The Nutcracker

Be a part of the magic! HBT’s annual presentation of The Nutcracker has been a holiday favorite for Honolulu audiences for over 40 years. AUDITION INFORMATION

Sunday, September 10, 2023 - HBT Studios (1221 Kapiolani Blvd #400, at the corner of Kapiolani and Pensacola). Wear leotard, tights and ballet slippers. Long hair should be in a ballet bun. Bring pointe shoes if trained on pointe. Rehearsals begin Sunday, September 24.

  • 1:30pm - Dancers age 5-9

  • 2:30pm - Dancers age 10-18

  • 3:30pm - Advanced and pointe-trained dancers

Ballet+ (beyond technique) The Hawaii Workshop  HBT is thrilled to host master educator and award-winning choreographer Francisco Gella for his first-ever Ballet+ Workshop in Hawaii! See why dancers come back to him again and again to enhance their technical and artistic training, and to be inspired in their journey. Symphonic Dances

Hawai‘i’s own Sarah Hicks returns to lead the Hawai‘i Symphony Orchestra (HSO) in a Starlight Festival first: dance and orchestra together in perfect harmony. The HSO will perform Rachmaninoff’s Symphonic Dances with Hawaii Ballet Theatre, a treat that will be sure to delight both classical music and dance lovers alike.

This concert will feature a performance by Mira Tsunoda, a winner of our 2023 Nā Hōkū ‘Ōpio Young Stars music competition. BUY YOUR TICKETS - LINK

Peter Pan & Symphonic Excerpts

Escape to Neverland in Hawaii Ballet Theatre’s original adaptation of PETER PAN! Peter Pan Auditions

PETER PAN AUDITION REGISTRATION Calling all dancers…come fly with us!

Dancers from all studios are welcome to audition and participate in HBT’s amazing summer experience, culminating in a full-length dance adaptation of “Peter Pan.” Ballet, jazz, contemporary, tap dance and more will be woven together into a magical reimagining of this classic tale.

Rehearsals: June 10-July 13 . . . . Performances: July 14-16, 2023 at Leeward Theatre

AUDITION INFORMATION

Sunday, March 5, 2023 - HBT Studios (1221 Kapiolani Blvd #400, at the corner of Kapiolani and Pensacola)

  • 1:00-2:00pm - Dancers ages 8-12

  • 2:00-4:00pm - Dancers ages 13-18

  • Tappers age 8-12 should come at 1:00pm and return at 3:15pm for tap audition

All dancers please bring ballet, pointe, jazz, half soles and tap shoes if you have them. Wear well-fitting dance attire and be prepared to learn multiple combinations in a variety of styles. Hair should be pulled back in a clean bun or tight ponytail if you have long hair.
